I loved the original Longbow, but Longbow 2 enhanced everything that was the original Longbow, and I don't see anyone really wanting to play the original even if you get it working. What was the fix for that crash in LB2? Maybe its the same for LB1. Well let me back track to what Fanatik was saying initially - basically that the crash I was describing was well established. I could dump out the details - but want to know if people have run into this before (or is this new ground)?

BUT, when I go to the tutorial -> free flight - it crashes right when I'm placed in the cockpit and the trainer starts talking to me. The animation and sound is coming out nicely. And for the most part - it all looks good.
To date - I now have LB Gold installed on a Win 98 SE VM (on VPC 2007). With today's technology - I am pretty confident we can get near native performance and basically make it playable. I've worked with VMWare and Virtual PC and so I am interested in seeing if I can get LB Gold to work on a Windows 98 SE Virtual Machine. My experiences with Sim's stretch back to when Gunship/F-15/F19 first came out - and then I too a very long hiatus from sims (not because I didn't like them).
